A Message from
Coach Evers
"It is my great pleasure to be the fifth head football coach for the Little Chute High School Mustangs. As the head coach of the program, I have the tremendous opportunity to lead a program that has a great tradition of success. It is my goal to have a football team that is prepared to be successful on the field, but more importantly, my hope is that the Little Chute football program is helping to create young people who are going to be great contributing members of society."
The Little Chute Mustangs began playing football in 1968 but the strong tradition of Little Chute football in our community began long before that. The St. John High School Dutchmen started playing football in the 1930s and played their last season in the fall of 1972. The Dutchmen experienced a lot of success over the years as they won many conference championships and earned a reputation for playing hard-nosed physical football.
The Little Chute Mustangs have experienced a lot of success on the field that includes twelve conference championships, five appearances in the state semi-finals, one state runner up finish, and a state championship awarded by the Associated Press in 1974. Little Chute Mustang football has not only had many great teams but has also produced many great players.
One of the main reasons for the sustained success of the Little Chute Mustangs has been the Little Chute Jets middle school football program. The Jets began playing football in the fall of 1971. Students from both Little Chute Middle School and St. John Grade School make up the team which is run by the Little Chute Recreation Department. The Jets football program has helped many athletes learn the fundamentals of football prior to the beginning of their high school football careers.
